In November 2008 the Diocese published its Pastoral Guidelines   The next stage of the process is ‘Called to be a People of Hope’ with three main themes: Prayer, Communion, and Mission as exemplified by Mary the woman of hope, Peter the rock of hope and Paul the apostle of hope. In his introduction Bishop Declan says that everything throughout the diocese must be judged by asking ‘Is what we do deepening prayer, enabling communion and strengthening mission?’  The Guidelines are intended to give a positive direction, providing encouragement and inspiration to everyone and not be restrictive.

The Parish Pastoral Council is at present working on its response to the Guidelines and is at the preliminary stage of preparing a Five Year Parish Pastoral Plan for the period up to 2015.  Progress is recorded in the Minutes of the Council's Monthly Meetings on this website  (here) and in various other sections.
